Medical Director
Robert S. Rosenberg, D.O., FCCP

Dr. Rosenberg is board certified in Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Pulmonary Medicine, American Medical Association and the American Thoracic Society. He has been involved in sleep medicine for over twenty years. Prior to moving to Arizona, Dr. Rosenberg was an Associate Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Rosenberg obtained his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his internship at LeRoy Hospital in New York, and his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, he completed a pulmonary fellowship at the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Rosenberg distributes a quarterly newsletter to the area primary care providers, and is a columnist for the Prescott Daily Courier. His question and answer column is included every Sunday in the Daily Courier’s “Vitality” section.

 

Physician Assistant
Karen Schwilling, PA-C

Karen Schwilling PA-C has 25 years of experience in Internal Medicine and Cardiology to include the specialty of Sleep Medicine. She has lived and worked in Prescott for the past eight years. Her career in medicine began while she was living in Brindisi, Italy in 1986. She volunteered through the Red Cross as an EMT on an American Air Force base. When she returned to the U.S. she pursued her passion for medicine, eventually attending Hahnemnn University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is accredited through the National Commission on Certification of Physian Assistants. Her particular areas of professional interest include Sleep Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Diabetes and Gerontology. Karen has a special interest in patient education and cognitive behavioral therapy to assist her patients in achieving their goals towards wellness.

 

Nurse Practitioner
Vicki Joyce, RNP

Vicki Joyce, RNP will be joining Dr. Robert Rosenberg's staff at the Sleep Disorders Center of Flagstaff beginning October 3, 2011. She has worked as a primary health care provider since 2007 and as an advanced practice nurse specializing in internal medicine and primary care for both acute episodic illness as well as chronic, multi-system conditions. Vicki initially trained with Dr. Rosenberg in sleep medicine beginning in 2008. She is delighted to resume her practice with Dr. Rosenberg. Vicki received her B.S. in Nursing with Honors from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1991, and her M.S. with Honors as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2007. She is nationally board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. "My passion as a health care provider is to promote health and wellness for men and women. My goal is to provide patients with compassionate, comprehensive medical care which includes evidence-based treatment options."

 

Clinical Director
Mari J. Hirst, RPSGT, RRT, CPFT, CCRC

Mari Hirst has an extensive background in the field of Sleep Medicine, including over 25 years experience managing sleep centers in Michigan, California and Arizona.  She has worked with patients of all ages, from neonates to seniors.  Her past experience includes overseeing multiple pharmaceutical research projects, as well as clinical lab management.  She is board registered in Sleep and Respiratory Therapy, and certified in Pulmonary Function Testing and Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics.  She has devoted most of her professional career to helping patients with sleep-disordered breathing, including years of volunteer work for the AWAKE (Alert, Well, and Keeping Energetic) network.
